Chewelah Evangelical Free Senior Pastor Job Description

CEFC is a demographically diverse, conservative and growing rural body looking for a Senior Pastor.

We believe in believer baptism, Holy Spirit baptism at time of conversion, sovereignty of God balanced with free will, creation by direct act of God, pre-millennial, congregational governance with elder leadership; a complementarian view of women, and marriage exclusively between a man and woman.

The Pastor must meet the standards of Acts 6:3, “known to be full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom”.  His standard of character and lifestyle shall be as stated in 1 Tim. 3:1-7, II Tim 4:1-5, Titus 1:5-9 and I Pet 5:1-4.

Potential candidates must have experience with discipling believers into Christ-likeness.  The church will require the successful candidate to pass both a background and credit check.  The new pastor and his family must be willing to relocate to the Chewelah area.

We are looking for a pastor who will inspire his flock through his personal example, interpersonal skills, spiritual gifts and expository preaching.  A 4-year degree is preferable;  however, experience can be taken into consideration.  Candidates must agree with and sign our doctrinal statement, By-Laws and Constitution before they progress to the interview process.

The Senior Pastor is expected to work 50-55 hours per week, with flexible office hours.  He must visit and see to the needs of those who are ill, with assistance from the Elders and Deacons.  Regular responsibilities will include:  meeting with Elders and Deacons, equipping the congregation for outreach evangelism and discipleship for leadership in the family, at home, in the church and community.
